Flutter is an animation I co-created with Jackson Roberts. It commemorates the memory of my grandmother and the feelings of confusion when a child first encounters death. I drew from my memories of her knitting and used the symbol of a butterfly as a through line and a representation of the child's uncertainty throughout her grandma's illness.
Flutter is still in its festival run and has been selected for Glendale International Film Festival, Flickers’ Rhode Island International Film Festival and ARFF Amsterdam International Awards so far.
